Cenote Yaakun
Yaakun means love in Maya and I know you’re going to love this dive like I do!
We walk down a 3-story wooden staircase to reach the large platform where you can use the steps or stride jump in to get in the water. There’s a really cool/eerie thick hydrogen sulfide cloud that starts at about 85ft/25m. Tree branches protrude out of the cloud so we’ll be careful when descending into the cloud. Under the cloud, we’re likely to see blind cavefish and cenote shrimp. Catfish also call this cenote home and are found everywhere! We’ll get to enjoy massive stalactites along the cavern wall. After the dive, you’re welcome to jump off the top of the wooden staircase if you’re brave enough!
Cenote Yaakun is located just outside of Playa del Carmen, 15 km from downtown PDC.
Cenote Dreamgate
Max Depth: 6m/20ft
Certification Required: Advanced
Overhead: 100% of the dive
Halocline: No
Speleothems: 6/5 🙌🏾
Entrance Fee: 380 pesos

This is the cavern dive of your dreams! We drive down a bumpy road to reach Cenote Dreamgate, one of the many cenotes connected to the Sac Actun cave system, one of the longest underwater cave systems in the world.
There are two (upstream and downstream) dive circuits in this cavern. Every twist and turn unravels the most impressive rock formations. The floor is covered in very fine sediment so you must frog kick and have good buoyancy control to keep from silting up the cavern.
