Naval
Cenote Naval is a massive open cenote located behind Cervecería Tulum in Parque Tankah. The cavern line begins in open water and takes you through stunning canyons, towering lily pad forests, and huge cavern areas full of schools of thousands of sparkling tetras; more fish than you’ll see in any other overhead environment. Throughout the dive you’ll find dozens of mesoamerican slider turtles, some more shy than others. At cenote Naval, you’re also likely to find cormorant birds diving down hunting for fish. When in the cavern areas we’ll see coral fossils, halocline, and hydrogen sulfide clouds; this cenote has it all!
Here, we will complete two long beautiful dives. For dive one we’ll check out the left side, and we’ll enjoy the right side for dive two. This is the perfect cenote for videography/photography, your first cenote dive, or for those a little nervous about diving in overhead environments as most of the dive takes place in open water. This is definitely one cenote you don’t want to miss!
