Cenote Media Luna
Cenote El Jardín de Edén (aka Ponderosa) is an open cenote, complete with convenient diver-only stairs leading you down to a sizable wooden platform. The dive starts in the snorkel area of Cenote Edén, full of fish & huge moss covered rocks. We’ll navigate through a wide tunnel until we reach Cenote Corral where you’ll be rewarded with some of the most beautiful light rays in Quintana Roo. Following the curve of Cenote Corral, you’ll swim through the mystical halocline and enjoy light rays, fallen tree branches and speleothems. Remember to bring your camera, you’ll want to capture the light rays that this dive is famous for!

Yaakun means love in Maya and I know you’re going to love this dive like I do!
We walk down a 3-story wooden staircase to reach the large platform where you can use the steps or stride jump in to get in the water. There’s a really cool/eerie thick hydrogen sulfide cloud that starts at about 85ft/25m. Tree branches protrude out of the cloud so we’ll be careful when descending into the cloud. Under the cloud, we’re likely to see blind cavefish and cenote shrimp. Catfish also call this cenote home and are found everywhere! We’ll get to enjoy massive stalactites along the cavern wall. After the dive, you’re welcome to jump off the top of the wooden staircase if you’re brave enough!
